U Mobile Launched U38 postpaid plan-24/4/2008
U Mobile, the third 3G operator in the country has successfully rolled out its first mobile service after having the 3G license since March 2006. The U38 postpaid plan offers the lowest commitment fee in the market at RM38 a month and comes with free mobile broadband usage for two months.
The U38 Plan is targeted at new 3G users who want an uncomplicated, affordable and performance-driven postpaid plan with all the essentials thrown in. The typical U38 Plan user is a highly mobile individual who is discovering the growing dependency of a mobile service with a primary broadband functionality. That is why we are bundled in U Mobile high-speed mobile Internet together with this innovative plan,said Yun Hae Jong, CEO of U Mobile Sdn Bhd.
Video Calls and voice calls from 018 to a 018 number are charged at 18 sen per minute while calls to another mobile operator within Malaysia are charged at 28 sen a minute. SMS and MMS are charged at 5 sen and 18 sen respectively within the network while it cost 15 sen and 28 sen to send to a number outside the network.
3G and HSDPA broadband services are free for two months, subsequently it is charged at 1 sen per kb and capped at a maximum of RM176 per month.
The U38 plan comes with no contract and offers value added service such as CLIP, call waiting, call holding, multi-party conferencing, missed call notification video mail and voice mail.
