In a press statement, Maxis Chief Executive Officer Sandip Das said “This has been Maxis forte and we are confident that for this very reason, customers who made Malaysia’s leading mobile operator will keep us in good shape during MNP. Competition can only be good for consumers. MNP will force all operators to be more efficient. They cannot let their focus waver on providing customers value constantly at every stage.”
One of the major initiatives that Maxis has taken is the paperless porting process. Consumers just need to bring their MyKad to over 3,000 Maxis centres and dealers to enjoy a quick registration process.
Making the process even more convenient, Maxis also made available the porting process online. All the consumers need to do is visit www.maxis.com.my or www.hotlink.com.my and fill up the application form. The customer will then need to walk in to any Maxis centre with their MyKad and sign the registration form which Maxis will then provide the customer with a new SIM card.
Some of the promotions that Maxis is offering for its postpaid plans include Extra SMS free for 3 months, rebates, unlimited data package free for 3 months and more.
On top of that, Maxis postpaid users could also subscribe to Maxis Broadband package (with modem) that offers up to RM680 in savings.
Prepaid users get to enjoy voice calls for as low at 33 sen to all network, free minutes (free 1 minute of talk time for every 5 minutes call), free 1 month subscription to caller ringtones, Star News alerts and Complete Backup with a RM30 worth of freebies for new customers.
According to Maxis, it will complete the MNP application no more than 2 working days.
