2008 Sony Ericsson next to cut jobs
More bad news from the tech industry, as Sony Ericsson plans to cut 500 jobs from its Swedish plants in Lund and Kista-where SE is headquartered. Reports suggest SE employees from Sweden are unhappy that the joint venture decided to recently open a new facility in India, instead of concentrating on the sites from its home country. But since India offers a cheaper workforce, SE might look to that as their main alternative. But even with the plans in India, Sony Ericsson has further plans to cut about 2000 jobs worldwide in the near future.
