Celcom to launch Blackberry Storm on April 28
The rain may have halted the Formula 1 race but it did not stop Celcom and BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM) from announcing the release of the Storm.
The Storm is BlackBerry’s first touchscreen model and is designed with BlackBerry’s own SurePress touch interface technology.
Dubbed the first “clickable” touch screen phone, it is unique as the screen senses the tips of fingers and in order to execute one has to depress the panel slightly.
The model comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, 1GB built-in memory, expandable memory up to 8GB via MicroSD card, built in GPS, BlackBerry Maps and preloaded applications for accessing Facebook and Flickr.
Celcom has also created an online download section for BlackBerry users known as Channel X and there is an exclusive section dedicated for Storm users.
The Storm is expected to be released on April 28 and will retail for RM2,499. Celcom will also have subscription plans which will allow customers to buy the phone at a discounted price.
