DIGI launch 3G boardband package
Petaling Jaya, 19 March-DiGi today finally launched their highly-anticipated 3G broadband network. The coverage would initially encompass Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Sunway and Bangsar.
DiGi will first introduce 3G broadband for PCs while 3G voice and data services for mobile phones will be launched at a later date.
Customers in other key areas of Klang Valley will be able to experience DiGi’s broadband service within weeks. DiGi plans to cover more than 1,000 zones at a minimum of 5 market centres by the end of this year.
DiGi will be providing three packages, Discover, Explore and Extreme. Both Discover and Explore packages have an average download speed of 700 kbps and upload speeds of 200kbps. Meanwhile, the Extreme package has a download rate of 2Mpbs and upload rates at 1Mbps.
The monthly fee starts from RM58, RM108 and RM188 respectively, meanwhile the usage caps out at 3GB, 10GB and 20GB.
DiGi expects to be able to offer average speeds of 700Kbps – based on the network’s theoretical 14.4Mbps capability.
