Free call within the Umobile postpaid supp line
U Mobile, the third 3G operator in the country has recently launched its first supplementary plan called U10. The new supplementary plan offers up to 4 lines at RM10 per month, each. U Mobile said that their postpaid subscribers with supplementary lines will enjoy cost-saving benefits by paying only 50% of their commitment fee and access fee at every sixth month upon their subscription. U10 will also allow supplementary lines to share their talk times with the principal line.
The 3G operator also launched another service called U Buddy Service offering free voice calls within the U Mobile network for RM10 a month.
“Instead of limiting only ten or eleven friends and families like others, “U Buddy Service” does not limit our subscribers to make free calls as long as they are within U Mobile’s network”, said Oh Kwang-Jin, U Mobile’s Chief Executive Officer.
“We are mindful of the current economic slowdown. Hence, we hope these two new services will offer more savings to our subscribers by reducing their monthly phone bills”, he added.
However, the U Buddy Service is limited to 30 hours of talk time per month whereas U Mobile postpaid subscribers will have to pay for talk time once the limit is exceeded. U Mobile also did not mention that it will inform customers once they reach the limit. As for its prepaid customers, the company extended its IDD Bonanza promotion to 30th June 2009.
